Hello Nicole - I'm not sure if we've ever met but you may have heard of Sahel Eco through Ced Hesse or Jamie Skinner. I'm trying to set up a similar site (but in French) for an initiative called "Re-greening the Sahel" which IIED was involved in launching and was wondering it you'd look at our site and give some tips. I'd very much llike to have a document library but can see how to do it. Thanks.

Hi Sophie, it's great that lots of people have signed up already - hopefully it will be a useful tool for the project. Unfortunately I don't think those badges are as clever as that yet - from what I understand they are basically a way of advertising the site on separate websites to recruit new members (not something we have done). If you want to have quick access to the site the best way is probably to add it as a favourite in your internet browser - or as a shortcut on your desktop or Outlook. Let me know if you need any help with either of those. I think you should also be able to type in http://forestconnect.ning.com to view the site for recent activity without actually logging in - you would need to log in to post any comments though. Hi Nicole, I didn't come back to you to tell that I find this such a nice initiative! Thanks a lot for setting this up! Now it should of course become operational, in the sense that people start posting interesting articles, discuss etc. I tried to have this Forest Connect Badge, since I thought that would be some mall icon I could put on my screen and then click on it if I would want to check the forum, but it didn't work... Probably I just did something wrong... Do you understand that part? Cheers Sophie

Hi Duncan. Yes, will explore in a little bit - have just given you admin status in case you want to see the same management options as I can. Will get back to you later. Nicole

Hi Nicole, This looks really good - thanks so much for setting it up. Could we possibly add a documents page where we can upload documents - and a links page where I can add in useful links to SMFE work? Duncan
